Educational and Ecological Dolphin Adventure Cruises

Give your group an experience of the pristine beauty of natural rivers and one of the few remaining barrier islands in the Carolinas. They will have first hand exposure to birds such as herons, terns, egrets, southern bald eagles, and red-cockaded woodpeckers.

As the group observes, they will also learn. A knowledgeable marine biologist will narrate this cruise in the calm waters of the inlet. Using crab traps, bottom dredges, and plankton nets, a collection of marsh plants and animals - crabs, sea urchins, whelks, sponges, and sand dollars - may be seen, touched and discussed. Nearby, there may be alligators and gopher tortoises.

During the last portion of the trip, participants are given an opportunity to use rod and reel to fish for samples of inlet dwelling fish, such as spot, croaker and pinfish.
